A. Wisdom is protection and a safeguard.
Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you. Proverbs 4:6-8
B. Wisdom has lasting value.
Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life. Proverbs 19:20
Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer. Proverbs 9:11-12
C. Wisdom is self-care.
To acquire wisdom is to love oneself; people who cherish understanding will prosper. Proverbs 19:8
The 7 wisest things to do about your financial life:
1. Swallow your pride.
Mockers hate to be corrected, so they stay away from the wise. Proverbs 15:12
Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2
2. Seek God.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7
3. Moderate your appetite.
A greedy man brings trouble to his family. Proverbs 15:27
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Proverbs 23:4
4. Share.
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Proverbs 3:27
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. Proverbs 11:24
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25
He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy. Proverbs 14:21
A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. Proverbs 22:9
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10
5. Don't take on debt.
The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7
6. Save
The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get. Proverbs 21:20
In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. Proverbs 21:20
7. Seek counsel.
Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others. Proverbs 12:15
There is safety in having many advisers. Proverbs 11:14
Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe. Proverbs 28:26
