What Does the Bible Say About Pain?

You can’t read any of the books in the Bible that tell us about the life of Jesus without seeing Jesus’ concern and compassion for those in pain. In fact, the picture that the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John paint of Jesus is one of him continually healing people.

Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. Matthew 9:35

Why is Healing Pain Important to God?

Pain surrounds us! Our bodies are in pain due to disease, injury, and chronic health issues. Our minds are broken due to anxiety and depression. And, our spirits are suffering due to guilt, shame, and fear. But this was never God's intention for His people.

Healing the Broken Place of PainDo you feel other’s pain deep within your soul?

Does the agony of others aggravate you?

If so, you might be a Healer. Being a healer does not mean that you have to be a medical expert. Healers are the kingdom army of praying, caring, embracing, listening, diagnosing, and loving people that bring healing to this broken place. They live their lives like Jesus and show compassion and care to all.

How You Can Get StartedPain is Everywhere

Pain occurs when people endure brokenness of their minds, bodies, and/or spirits. It's no coincidence that the first time Jesus sent his disciples out on their own, His marching orders were, "Heal the sick and tell them the kingdom of God is near you now!" (Luke 10:9) Such was Jesus’ heart towards those in pain and he's asking you now: are you going to heal my people?

Are you someone whose heart beats faster when you see all the brokenness from pain in the world? Are you a person who feels others’ suffering deep within your soul? Are you driven by destiny to bring healing to others' affliction? Jesus is calling you to step into these places.
